I am glad more people are taking the opportunity to hear my ART System. I am also glad that a growing number of people are cuing into their benefits.

Regarding their price, they are very difficult to fabricate with the correct "tone" to perform to spec. When we started production we had "only" a 50% rejection rate on resonators that measured to spec (no we will not post the secrets of what we measure for). Since then that number has swelled to nearly 90%- this means that 9 out of 10 resonators forged must then be destroyed because they do not measure up and this has led to a back order status. On top of this each resonator must be heat treated, by hand, and the person who does this is yours truly. The heat treating process is very time consuming and of the resonators that I heat treat, not all exhibit the proper tone so we have more waste. After the heat treating process violin lacquer is applied in a climate controlled clean room and this is not cheap. All in all the manufacturer of the ART System is a very labor intensive process done 100% in the United States- not Asia, also expensive. The final treatment- Quantum Tunneling with a large purpose built, solid-state Tesla Coil is also time consuming and the expense that went into the development of that technology was significant. Speaking from a material cost to retail basis, what do you think the mark up is for traditional room acoustics made from Owens Corning fiberglass that can be banged out without any tuning or waste?

For many the Acoustic ART System is their ONLY acoustic treatment option- wives or aesthetic concerns simply do not allow for ANY traditional room acoustics. All in all, 3k for a well treated room is not at the high end of the spectrum, nor is my Acoustic ART System the most expensive room treatment system based on resonator technology. If you want to see expensive, take a look at the costs for the Acoustic System Resonators- you can spend over $10,000 and not get the benefits of a $3,000 Acoustic ART System. While the Acoustic ART System may seem expensive for what they are, they are in fact inexpensive for what they do and irreplaceable in rooms that would otherwise go untreated.

Lastly as has been pointed out by others, you do not need to buy the entire system to get excellent results. One Gravatron Satellite placed between your speakers and one Bass Station will give you HUGE gains for under 1k.

Value if relative but in this case, I feel the value of the Acoustic ART System is absolute.

I saw a similar system at CES in 2004 called Acoustic System. They where designed by Franck Tchang and distributed by Fast Audio. Their bowl like containers were made from various precious metals. Each was supposed to depart a different quality sound. Anyone here ever try them?

        Knowing your existing product line, you are a man of integrity. Are your devices altering the room resonance ? Or canceling resonance ? Very interesting concept.

How do the bowls work without any other treatments present ?

In our room at RMAF the Acoustic ART System was the ONLY acoustic treatment- no absorption or diffusion.

In the room you heard, well there is a saying that goes something like this... "too many cooks spoil the soup". We set up the room with the ART System in the correct locations based on the (then) current speaker placement, and an hour or two later, one of the other manufacturers in the room would move the speakers thereby negating the ART placement. Later we re positioned the ART System and another change was made again negating the ART placement and so on. This room was further compromised by traditional acoustic treatments in locations that worked against the Acoustic ART System which were added after we optimized the room around our Acoustic ART System.

At this years CES the only acoustic treatment in our room was the ART System with the exception of a pair of Shakti Holographs which many would consider a non-treatment (not myself however).

I hope this answers your questions and that you get a chance to hear our pantent pending technology correctly implemented before passing any black and white judgments.

Ted D. is spot on about the RMAF room I worked in this past October.  We had some issues with the room (corner of hallway location) and kept tweaking speaker positioning, moving some DIY bass panels behind curtains,etc so the ART system never saw the same room twice.  But as I said, both downstairs in their untreated mezannine room, as well as their cozier-but-still-untreated CES Tower room, the ART system was heard by most to be a significant before-after demo.  In my well-treated room I'm going to try the Bass Station and Gravatron first, but will demo the whole set.  I'll, of course, report back on the "budget" approach vs whole hog.

The Acoustic ART System does not resonate in an audible way except to correct for room reflections that smear phase and frequency information. In other words you cannot hear the Acoustic ART Systems resonators “resonating”. What the Acoustic ART System does is cancel acoustic distortion in a listening room thereby allowing you to get closer to the music. You really need to hear your room treated with the Acoustic ART System in place before passing any judgment on its effect.

Brown- they work on an old principal based on sympathetic resonance. I am getting ready for a trip to Oakland for a presentation for the BAAS (Bay Area Audio Society) tomorrow where I will be demonstrating the Acoustic ART System as well as the new PowerCell line conditioner so I will be afk for a day or three.

We should have technical data regarding their operation shortly on our website.
