NHT XdS DIY crossover

I'm not sure if you guys are aware of this already or not, but I think it's an awesome deal for DIY and non-DIY.

http://home.comcast.net/~jhidley/index.html

From the link above, NHT XdS monitor and XdW subwoofer are being sold at great discount (I already ordered 2 XdS and 1 XdW). The catch is that you have to build/buy a x-over for the XdS monitor because there's no XdA unit available.

The x-over plan is available here --> http://home.comcast.net/~jhidley/XdS-data.zip
More info on the XdS monitor here --> http://nhthifi.com/current/products/vintage/xds.html

The M-60 also looks interesting.

XdS passive x-over:

Maybe someone can give recommendation in building an outboard passive x-over or maybe using an electronic x-over.

Here are some pics from the Audioholic review showing the drivers and enclosure.

I've never built a x-over before so I'll need suggestion w/c type of cap, inductor, and resistor to buy from partsexpress.  The budget for all parts is $100.

Solen caps tend to be very neutral.  Use large gauge inductors, and non-inductive resisters.

Good suggestions.

I would lean towards the Solen caps, Erse coils, and Mills resistors.

I wouldn't say that Solen caps are any more or less neutral than other caps. They're just well-made and are very suitable for use in speaker crossovers.
