Some questions:
Does the AVP2 have any 7.1 surround modes?
Can the AVP2 take converted-at-player (PCM) 5.1 data and upconvert to 7.1 (HBR surround)
How does the AVP2 deal with Blu-Ray since it seems to have no HDMI or multichannel input capability?  Same question for SACD/DVD-A.
Is there an update or upgrade to DPLIIx modes?

Thanks
Ted

Thanks.  Good points.  I did some research.  As a 5.1 processor and a great 2 channel preamp/DAC it seems like they don't make them like this anymore.  Not for me, cuz I got sucked into 7.1 and BR (and the processors today don't really care as much about audio quality, just whiz bang) but for someone who has a nice 5.1 system and needs a good preamp too, this is the one of the last of the great processors.

P.S  We could debate SACD/DVD-A but this is your nickel.   :D

I still have mine and don't see myself ever letting go of it. Ergonomically speaking nothing, not even the No.40 comes close. The automigration features and the 9 button remote for dummies is something Lexicon should have picked up. Tsk tsk. To think all they had to do was send a request memo.

I never tried it in 7.1 but I think it's actually possible using the two auxiliary xlr outputs which can also be configured to output left and right LFEs via a bit of fiddling around with the menus.

$1990 is a steal.

Note however that all analog audio inputs are digitized with very good ADCs while the gain section is analog. Just a little something vinyl purists should be aware of.

Digitizing can be bypassed.

Thanks for the heads up via PM Stedanko. Worked like a charm  :thumb:
