Does anyone have the Insight or Ultra DAC that I can demo in the greater NYC area? 

Obviously this would be in your home and I would like to bring my Benchmark Dac for comparison purposes.  Although I'm satisfied somewhat with the sound of the Benchmark, I sometimes feel like it's a bit to brittle or thin for my tastes.  I'm running my Boulder Cable modified Squeezebox Duet into the Benchmark which in turn feeds into my Cayin 100T amp and Salk HT-1 monitors. 

Other contenders consist of the PS Audio Digital III  or the TADAC.  I know very difference but why not.  My budget is $1K but I may have some more room to play.

I am running an unmodified Squeezebox Duet into the Insight DAC (with the new chips),
and I am pleased with the results.

If you don't obtain a local demo, I'd recommend calling Frank.

All AVA gear has a 30 day warranty, so if you aren't happy with it,
a return will only cost you some shipping charges. 

That's an inexpensive way to find out how it sounds in *your* system,
which is really your goal.

I have the Transcendence 8 tube DAC, which is between the Insight & Ultimate... very happy with it!
