Herr Klaus: status of my Kismet mono's
« on: 6 Mar 2009, 09:12 pm »
Hi, Klaus,

Arrived home last night expecting to find a set of Kismet monoblocks
waiting for me; but, alas, they hadn't arrived yet.

I called the Odyssey number and I'm confident that, as always, you'll
call back later tonight.

I simply got a little impatient as the ship date has slid a couple of times.

Thanks,

Lonnie

Hey Lonnie,

Call me back man.
We're  finishing up the 2nd run in the next week or so.  I'll have the chrome corners done by Monday for everybody who wanted them.  As for your amps,  will you be in Indy next weekend ???

Can bring them over then,

Klaus

Hi, Klaus,

Not until late March or April -- not certain of the date yet.

Oh yes -- refresh my memory:  Do the KISMETs have a 12v trigger input or
is it optional?  Same question for the forthcoming KISMET preamp - except,
12v triggers for input (to trigger on/off the preamp) and output (to trigger an
amp or amps).

Thanks,

Lonnie

Klaus delivered the KISMET mono's late Friday evening about 22:30!  This is service!

I hooked them up Sunday as I was out all day Saturday.
The amps were connected and powered up and then I started listening - so, NO
break-in time.

First CD:  June Christy, Something Cool - mono recording, track 1:

Excellent field width and depth - yes, you get this in spades from a
       really good mono recording.

       She sounded oh so sweet!

Second CD: Respighi - tracks 1-3:

1st track - excellent dynamics!  Wait until the drums kick in at 04:21!

        Just stinkin' awesome!  Nuf said!

Just ordered another.  Mine are all black - the listening room is theatre black -
walls, ceiling, carpet.  Lights off, naturally when listening.

I'll write more once I get some more time -- just returned from a 13 hour drive.

Cheers!  Klaus is readying the second run.

Glad to hear that the Kismet's arrived and are sounding good.  I must say that you need to post pictures of the all black kismets A.S.A.P.

Hi, All,

One slick thing Klaus has done with the KISMET's is to make
the LED's easily disconnected.  This is great for me as the listening
room is theatre black and the blue LED's look like eye-piercing lasers.

Disconnect the wire(s) and darkness!

No one will be disappointed with the KISMET's performance.

Cheers,

LDM
