WTB: Looking for some NOS 12ax7 and 6sn7 Tubes
« on: 6 Mar 2009, 06:27 am »
I'm looking for some individual NOS 12ax7 and matched pairs of 6sn7's.

So if anyone has some excess they want to get rid of let me know.

Try Bill Thomas, the Dynaco man.  He is a very good person to deal with.

I have 6H8C - a Russian military version of 6SN7 if you're interested.

Have you considered the reissue Mullard 12AX7?

I ask because I just ordered a pr for my VAC preamp and am curious as to what you may have heard or reasons you may or may not be considering this tube.

Thanks

i  have two others that are RCA VT 231  JAN tubes

one of the ones out of the box is surely used but it testest at 100%  on my heathkit tc-2

the other one my be used a little but not much and it tests at 100% as well.

the NIB one tests at 100%

i would let them all 3 go for $45...all 3 gaurenteed to not be DOA

Hi, gongos,

I DO have some 12AX7's available.  They start at $25.00 each for late-production Philips/ECG 12AX7's from the 1980's, and prices go up from there. (shipping included for US residents).  Black Plate RCA's are expensive.  Mullards are MORE expensive.  Don't ask about Telefunkens - even the used ones are expensive.  If your gear applies AC to the filaments, consider using 7025's for their lower-hum construction.  (They start out about five bucks higher than the 12AX7's.)

Sorry, no 6SN7's, but they won't be hard to turn up.  If I can help with the 12AX7's, e-mail me at nostubesforyourdynaco@gmail.com.

Sincerely,

Bill Thomas

is there a specific 6sn7 you are looking for?
I used to have an octal preamp and have a dozen different sets.
Regards, Bill

Maybe a set of Raytheon 6SN7 WGT or Sylvania WGTA's. I'm looking to try some different sets so I'm open to a number of options. Let me know what you have.
