TT22 Tube Amp
« on: 5 Mar 2009, 03:38 pm »
Hi guys!

Am just new in this forum and just want to share some audio creations by our Filipino compatriot simply known among his friends and followers in the Philippines as "Mang Rod". He has been a DIYer in tube audio for quite a long time (more than 40 years) and had already designed a wide range of tube audio gears ranging from Transformer Volume Control (passive preamp), tube preamp, SET amps and pushpull amps using various power tubes like EL34, EL84, 2A3, 845, 300B, KT88/6550. His audio creations is being carried under the banner "Trodt Audio". One thing unique and impressive of this fellow is that he designed his own circuit.  Recently, he designed and has amazed a lot of Filipino audio enthusiasts by his recent creation particularly the 6C33C-B SET/Pushpull-Parallel, monoblock amps. This new 6C33C-B amps is the first of its kind ever designed in tube audio where you can operate the amp in switchable mode from SET mode (Parallel) to Pushpull mode and vice-versa depending on and to match the operating specs of the speaker. Just this week, he launched his latest creation known as the Trodt Compactron MM/MC phonostage using a rare compactron tube with 12-pins and with matching sockets.

Among his other DIY audio creations, am posting this specially designed, if not rare,  TT22 Pushpull amp in monoblock. This amp is rated to deliver 100watts per channel with matching impedance speaker terminals (4 ohms and 8 ohms). This was just completed two weeks ago and just turned-over to me last Monday (March 2nd). Each power tube (TT22) has its own driver tube (6S4A) and a phase inverter/splitter (6SL7).
