Differences on sound between ref 8.5V2 and 9V2?
« on: 26 Feb 2009, 04:44 pm »
Hi,

I'm considering to upgrade my reference 8.5 amps to V2. Manual says that 8.5V2 is identical with 9V2 except power supply.

Does it affect only to available power, or sound also? I don't need more power, 15W would do it :)

Almost all gloving reviews are are for 9V2...

Thanks, Juha

I think it would most definitely be worth the time with out your amps and money. The V2 upgrade brings better sound than the SE upgrade and it costs less. I went the whole upgreade route from stock ref to SE and then to V2. To my ears the V2 upgrade will make you say what took me so long. IMO
Not affiliated with Nuforce in any way just a very happy customer like you.

You can always upgrade from Ref 8.5V2 to Ref 9V2 in the future so if you don't need the extra power, save some money!  :thumb:

Reference 8.5V2 has been discontinued. It was a 200W mono amp but since the introduction of Stereo 8.5V2 (200W x 2), we decided to drop Ref 8.5V2.
