Good HT pre/processors under 400$??

Anybody know of a pre/processor that sounds good for a reasonable price? Most of these things seem to be really expensive, for reasons I truly don't understand. Must be low market demand or an evil scheme of the audio gods. . .

I guess the other option would be using a regular AV receiver. Ideas for one with preouts in this price class? Used would be ok.

JoshK is selling a B&K Pre/pro in the AC classified forum for around that price.

A Pioneer VSX-D912K would do a great job for the under $400 range.

Thanks for the suggestions! I think I'll stick with something that offers 6.1 for now. That Pioneer looks pretty good, but unfortunately they're pretty expensive here in Switerland. Like just about everything, actually!

The cheapest offer I found was over $600 mailorder.
