spiral tweet vs. FST..........

Can anyone tell me how they compare in sound and or dispersion? Or overall output for that matter.

Thanks!

Both the spiral ribbon and the FST can be dehorned, which is what we do with the CDWG not using the DCX digital correction.

The spiral ribbon is the same as the Infinity "Emit-R" and has appeared in many high end designs.  The FST is a modded Aurem Cantus.  Sensitivity of the FST is about 8 dB higher than the spiral.

Sorry. Should have specified spiral not dehorned.

Thanks for the info.

8db seems like quite a bit. In the 626 which is better matched for that cabinet/driver configuration? I've got an LRC with the FST and if I remeber right, I think I did have it dialed back quite a bit. It does sound amazing however!

If you have the FST in the center stick with it in the 626's.  There is a difference in smoothness and distortion in favor of the big tweeter.
