Anyone had experience with the Cary SLI-80 with VMPS RM 30c? Is it a good match?

Dennis makes some wonderful amps.

RM30s "like" watts/amps, but in an intimate (nearfield) listening set up, that amp should sound great. 80wpc in "tube watts" is pretty hefty.

In a larger room or a more farfield set up, you might find it useful to "biamp", using a solid state on the bottom (woofs) and the Cary on the tweets and Neo's, or go with more power.

I owned SLI-80. It sounds lovely, and worked well when used conservatively. After full checkup from Cary, it made 70W from one channel, 55W stereo at onset of clipping, into 8ohm resistor. Mine was from a batch built with incorrect resistors that severely limits full power, first reported in a european magazine review. Cary fixed mine for free when I asked for it, but it still never made 80W even with brand new tubes. fwiw....
