Museatex/Melior AVC linestage preamp, with remote

From the devious mind of Ed Meitner, who gets his props for being the King of Digits with his EMM Labs wizardry, but I think should get shout-outs for his analog stuff, too. In fact, he has. To steal a puff from the EMM Labs site: "Eminent recording and mastering engineer Tom Jung explains: 'Ed Meitner is the only guy on the planet who has an equally good understanding of both digital and analog circuitry.'"

This luffly linestage is about as clean, transparent, and detailed preamps as you can hear, IMO. Lots of inputs and programmable functions, and still supported by John Wright at www.museatex.com/melmus.html for service and upgrades. Last I heard from him, he touted his recent revisions as taking the pre's to the top of the pops. (I don't know the tariff on those mods, so no point asking me.)

One of the nice (and uncommon) features is that the second set of outputs reverses polarity, allowing you to maximize power from a stereo amp. You connect one channel to first output, second to the second (reversing cable leads at the speaker to restore polarity): "Because the phase of the signal and therefore the demands of the amplifier on its power supply are now 180 degrees opposite to each other, the power supply will provide peak power much more easily. The result is better sound with greater ease and wider dynamics."

The AVC has video capabilities and a revised board (improved, according to the Melior/Museatex site) and is in peachy condition. There are three small scrapes/indents on the bottom edge of the front and a veddy, veddy minor indent on the ^ button. In the photo, taken in direct sunlight, I've tilted it up so you can see better. Indoors on a shelf, y'ain't hardly gonna see them.
