Hello,
I am first time on the forum, although I have my Omegas from May 2008. I was in love with them (and still are) from the first sound! In the mean time I have followed what Louis have recommended to me, and one of those things was a maple base. Excellent result with the maples under the speakers. The last thing I have changed were the brass screws. At the beginning the sound was much batter, better stage, instruments more focused, but in the few days I have realised that the whole "specter" went up. Basically, what have happened is that the SIBILANTS become very noticeable and very sharp. This was "visible" specially with the female vocals!
One of the things my room need is the dampening. Playing with it I have managed to soften the effect but still the sound is very , very sharp!
I would like to know did someone else had a similar problem!? (In the mean time i have inserted the thin layer of cork between the maple and the wooden floor and it seems that the sibilants are gone. Still have to test it).
Anyhow, for my small room, the Omegas are fantastic. Would not change them for anything in the world!
Thanks and regards,
Vladan
