Excellent choice, IMO. I was quite surprised by the quality of this component, given the price. An inexpensive, non invasive tweak is to replace the nickel plated steel links joining the preamp section to the power amp section at the back with aftermarket links; Tara, AudioQuest, JenaLabs work quite well, or DIY your own.

What would be the benefit of this and how difficult is it to do this?  You say non-invasive but wouldn't you have to go inside the amp to do this?

I think he is suggesting using short interconnects in place of the nickel loops.  Plug and play.

My brother runs a large HK receiver in his system, and I have found it to be just fine for mid-fi.
