I ran this poll over at the Apple Core a while back, and thought it might be interesting to see if the same trends apply 'across the board'. That poll showed wifi as the most popular, with USB in second place. This poll is set up to allow users to choose more than one option.

I assume by wifi/ethernet you're referring to Squeezeboxes, Airport Express, etc?

I am using 2 connections, 1 at a time. I use a USB connection to my Empirical Off-Ramp 3 and a SPDIF-out cable to my Sunfire processor for music but when watching DVD's, I switch the SPDIF cable back to my M-Audio Rev 7 sound card and still to my Sunfire processor so I can get the Dolby Digital or better yet DTS (if available). I hate having to keep pulling my Crystal Cable Digit but I gotta do what I gotta do to get how I want things. :D

I'll add that I have a HTPC that sits on top of my 6 shelf Sanus rack so everything is hardwired. I use a wireless keyboard with built-in mouse for simplicity with a chairside LCD and a Sony XBR CRT, both usually being on at the same time. :duh:

Cheers,
Robin

Media PC w/Revo card in a closet.  Digital coax from PC through wall to pre/pro.

I can view PC on RPTV or use Remote Desktop on laptop.

My computer connects with Wifi to the DSL modem/router my phone company supplied, which is connected with ethernet cable to each of my DirecTV satellite receivers, which are in turn connected by HDMI to TVs and by digital optical cables to AVRs.
