This sucks . . Decca is shutting down: http://www.scena.org/columns/lebrech...-NL-decca.html.  Don't know how active they have been of late but I do have a release by a very pretty fado singer as late as 2005:  Ulisses- Christina Branco.  Crying shame.  They're a legend.

My trumpet teacher, Leon Merian, recorded for the Decca Records label back in 1950s.

It's the British classical label, part of Universal that is shutting down. Grab that new Julia Fischer record while you can!!  Universal was/is? also using Decca in US to market pop and jazz acts, like Sting, Roy Hargrove, Charlie Haden. I wonder if that will go under too. They will move artists around, maybe drop some, it's mostly the marketing name gone and a lot of label employee layoffs.
