Help! A Tube Int. Amp for 84db Monitors?
« on: 3 Feb 2009, 12:42 am »
I am a total "Tube Noob" but I hear it is a very sweet sound and will make my digital audio files sound even better.  I use Swan D2.1SE Monitors, and I am unsure if these low powered tube amps will mate well with the Swans.

I have heard that tube watts are 2-3 times a solid state watt, whatever the hell that means so any and all help, will be greatly appreciated.

I was looking at the Cayin A-50T or the Prima Luna Prologue One.

i would suggest auditioning a manley stingray.  i have heard this amp drive proac 1sc's and proac tablette 8 ref sigs to satisfying levels in a ~22x14x10h room.  the stingray is 50wpc ul/25wpc triode.  the proacs are only a bit more efficient than your speakers, at 86db/1w...
