I think that the VAM1201 is the same as the CDM1201.  You can buy these at MCM Electronics.

I'm not 100% sure, so please check if this is really the same.
Thanks,

Does anyone know if this is the same transport that is used in the Marantz CD6000?  I have a Heart CD6000 which is a modded Marantz.  It was working fine, then sat on the shelf for a few years.  When I got it out to try it in a new system, I was dismayed to find that it would no longer read disks (or usually won't anyway).  Usually, it can't read the TOC, but on the few disks that it can, it skips around when trying to play the disk as if the disk was damaged. The disks play fine in other players.

I believe this player uses the Phillips transport, which seems to fail fairly often from what I've read.

So, if anyone can tell me if they think I am wrong about the problem with my player, or if they think this is the correct transport for it, I would really apprecitate it.
Also, how difficult is the fix? Is there any soldering involved?

thanks!
