Oppo 980 USB Question
« on: 1 Feb 2009, 07:41 pm »
The Oppo technical data says "The DV-980H comes with a USB 2.0 interface to connect with external USB devices. The multi-format video, picture and music playback functions take the entertainment experience far beyond just discs".

I have a 4GB USB 2.0 flash drive with one track of a CD that was downloaded to my hard drive as an uncompressed wav file via EAC, then copied to the USB device. When the flash drive is inserted into the Oppo's USB interface the player recognizes the drive but the screen says "empty device". What do I need to do to get the oppo to recognize and play a music file that's stored on the flash drive?

I think the 980 only plays back MP3 and WMA music files.  You're probably out luck with WAV, FLAC or Apple audio files.

Thanks. That's what I needed to know.
