Music connects people in profound ways.  Check it out if you haven't seen/listened to this:

"From the award-winning documentary, "Playing For Change: Peace Through Music", comes the first of many "songs around the world" being released independently."

I'm in no way connected to these folks.  More info  http://playingforchange.com

Thanks. Absolutely beautiful.
My teenage son turned me onto this video a few months back because of the appearance of Washboard Chaz. When we lived in Wallstreet, Colorado, Chaz was the Mayor of nearby Gold Hill. He and my next door neighbor, BBQ Bob, gigged together for a number of years. Days gone by. Chaz appears to be in New Orleans and BBQ is living on an Indian Res in northern Montana. And I'm in Fruita.

But, as the video ably demonstrates, the whole world is connected by music and the fundamental good will that prevails among people everywhere. It's one of the few bright spots on the Global Economy horizon. And maybe its enough to overcome the callous greed and divisiveness engendered and propagated by those in control of our various governments. Let's hope so.

Your personal story sure adds another level to the video too.

I was struck by how the global language is now English.  It's odd, because for me, music without words creates emotions which are understood internationally.  I hope future songs are wordless.

While English is surely the language of business and therefore in worldwide use, I would posit that everyone was singing in English because that's how the song goes, like Hava Nagila or Frere Jacques are usually sung in their original tongue. I think opera is generally handled in this way as well.

I'd love to meet Grandpa Eliot.
