I agree - a sad loss and an often overlooked artist who lived a hard life but could sing like an angel. If you don't know him, do yourself a favor and get a copy of 'Solid Air' -- I cannot imagine any music lover not enjoying this, it's a great start and he has a strong catalog of others you can dip into after this if interested. I grew up listening to him in Ireland and England where he was very popular and a frequent performer on the live circuit. A friend told me this week she saw him live last year again and he was reduced to a wheelchair and not quite the intense, sweaty life force he used to be, which made her sad but thankful she made the effort one more time.
