Channel Islands Audio VMB1s

I have here a pair of Dusty's 40w chip amp monoblocks in great condition.  I used these very happily in my system for quite some time, but they've been sitting idle since I picked up one of Roger Modjeski's EM7 SET amps.  I love both of the amps, and have been entertaining the fantasy of keeping both - but reality eventually sets in, and I have to make the choice.

It wasn't an easy choice, either.  The VMB1s have a lot going for them.  They are very sensitive, and reach full output on a tiny little signal.  So don't bother trying to match these with a high-gain pre-amp.  They are extremely dynamic, though.  One of the areas in which they trump my SET amp is in the intensity with which they deliver music at very low volumes.

I had these monoblocks paired with a sweet little, low-gain, 6sn7 based pre-amp, and the music never failed to get my feet tapping.

Them VMB1s are not in production any more.  You can find out more about them here: http://www.positive-feedback.com/Issue18/ciavmb1.htm

The amps are in excellent condition.

I'd like to get $525 for the amps, plus shipping (from zip code 48103) and any paypal fees.  But I'll guarantee you won't have to part with any more than $550 for the lot (less, if shipping is cheap).  I have the original packing material, which is really and truly excellent.  I think each monoblock gets encased in some heavy-duty styrofoam stuff that's almost 6" thick.

There's no need to be shy.  And you know the amps will never be yours if you keep playing hard-to-get.

Why not make me an offer?

Seriously, the amps sound wonderful with the tube pre-amp.  If you wanted to stop drooling, and start enjoying the music, you could always make me an offer.  I'm never offended by offers.  Who knows: I might even consider a payment plan!
