I read that article yesterday and came to the following conclusions:
1. There is no consensus among the manufacturers or experts.
2. They are still thinking inside the box. What about newer technologies that are available in most PCs nowadays (HDMI, etc)?
3. The only person who commented on the fact that everything matters in computer audio was Hanson of Ayre. The rest focused on jitter, jitter, and jitter. Did I mention jitter?
It was, indeed, a great compilation of opinions.
