Audio Shops in Greater Phoenix
« on: 27 Jan 2009, 02:57 am »
Hi Folks,
I moved into the southeast valley of Phoenix back in mid-October and now that I am pretty much settled, I'm looking to support this addiction of mine.

Any information about good audio shops anywhere in the valley would be appreciated.  At this point, most every retailer is so focused on HT that 2 channel is almost non-existent, as you all know.  The only shop I've been in so far is Celestial Audio on N. 35th St in Phoenix.  While I like the shop, it is small and a little limited.

So, any input would be great!

I really like AudioNut, which is located in Peoria right off the 101 loop.  It's a family run business, and I've found them to be very easy to work with and helpful, even with my modest budget.  They recently moved into a good sized space, so they have lost of gear on display.

Rick.

In no particular order:
AudioNut, like previous poster mentioned, they have a new location and lots more gear on display.

Esoteric Audio, the veteran in PHX area stores, great customer service.

Arizona Hi Fi, TUBES! and lots of them!

L&M Home Entertainment, a few months ago they had an ad in the Republic featuring those huge 4 tower MDL's, the Dali Megaliner, and the big McIntosh 4 tower system. I never did get down there to see if they actually had them all on display! On Sundays they have open hours, otherwise it's by appointment. I heard the Megaliners about a year ago, wonderful!

There is some new place up in Scottsdale, by the 101 and Scottsdale Road called Starpower. I haven't been there but a friend stopped there and told me to check it out "they have some gear that only you would recognize" he said. LOL

There was a place called Sounds Like Music, they closed, but my wife was told that they were going to open a new store soon. They had Levinson, and Linn, among others.

Hope you can stand the heat when your riding in the summer, watch your back though, they nail bikers with left turns around here.
Cheers!

Thanks for the info guys, I appreciate it.  I knew all the shops in northern New England and now I can go looking around the valley for a new table for the vinyl that I just unpacked after several years of storage.

And Dusty, thanks for the warning about the left turns.  I been riding these things for over thirty years....I qualify as a "crusty old biker"  You get that way by expecting everyone on the road is out to get you....because many are since they don't pay attention.

I have purchased several items over the phone from Dan at Dedicated Audio. I thought he was in Scottsdale, but his address says Phoenix.

Great service!
