Lowend report: Off topic part: I bought an Ebtech HumX (no affiliation) because my 4track tape recorder with ipod etc had some sort of ground loop nastiness. That venture ended, so I took the HumX home and use it in front of my power strip for my Panny sa-XR55 lowball 100 watt into my Super XRS speakers. XRS part: That was a week ago. Doggone if yes there is a reall large improvement in clarity and soundfield depth\3D-ness. Quite noticeable. Any way, whilst I dream of my next Omega pair\setup, I wanted to mention how wonderful things are. I did the brass-screws mod, good. The humx, excelletn too. I guess its removing noise somewhere along the line. When I say lowend, I mean i naddition to the sa-xr55, I'm also using Home Depot extension cords (copper twisted) for speaker cables, yeah, that olow, haha. It's sounds pretty dang good.
Love the SUPER XRS'S!

SuperXRSSeattle,
Thanks for the tip, I've read good things about the HummX. Glad to hear that your system sounds better because of it.
Dude don't sell your system short, you have some "budget" pieces, but by no means is it low end
! Think more like boombox
for that statement.
One thing that I do know is that your XRS's perform far beyond their price point.
Enjoy,
Rodge

Right on Rodge. I'm listening to After The Gold Rush and man things never sounded better. I think next I'll try the Primacoustic Recoil stabilizers. The Humx cleaned up everything (the black space is blacker?) I hope the Recoil will gain me more immediacy\accuracy, not that I need it, just for fun. On a side note, the burn-in or break in period on the Super XRS was excruciating, at 200 hours I thought I was going to loose it, becuae it wasn't happening yet. I've got about 750-1000 hours on them now and the sweetness is really Sweet. Not coated, just honest clean goodness. Mighty fine.

Yeah, I went through the same thing with a pair of ferrite Compact Hemps about a year ago
. It seemed to take forever for them to come around, but when they did, I was richly rewarded
.
Louis makes an awesome product

Hi SuperXRSSeattle,
Thanks for the tip and I never knew of this at all.
The first thing I do when it comes to cables and tweaks is attack the power supply first. Most improvement there,
Sorry, maybe after all the patience regarding break in.
Thanks,
Louis

Dude! Actually, I really look forward to breaking in another pair asap, the 8" I believe.
Thanks for mentioning your method Loius - I need to get my tone path upgraded, so power supply* to start, then second pair.
* change Panny class D to Class Dynaco!
