Yes, I have to say that you should never use hardwood more than 1/8" thick or so, because it will MOVE and check/crack, according to humidity, which we are experiencing extremes of now. Relative humidity here in Austin is 19%. By Spring, it could be 30%. That is a huge diffence in wood. If you work with super thin, paper-backed veneer, it's not a problem. Plus, with thin veneer, you have an incredibly beautiful wood grain variety to choose from.
