FS: Amity HPA2V headphone amp
« on: 22 Jan 2009, 10:01 pm »
Bought this SS headphone amp in the mid 90's in Germany from an American Engenier living in Germany for about $ 300. A year later I had it updated from HPA1V to the HPA2V status which cost me another $ 100. Case says HPA1V but on the bottom are 2 serial numbers due to the update.

Here is the Amity website Amity® audio and hifi products!
My model is no longer made but similar to the HPA4.

The amp is build like a dual mono block. After the AC swith the left and right channels are kept completely separate until the signal gets to the phono plug connector. The amp produces 3/4 Watt @ 100 ohms, or 1 watt at 30 ohm. Class A. DC-couppled. There are no opamps, circutry is discret.

Volume is controlled independent with a stepped attenuator.

Sound characteristics: fast, punchy, clean.
Has been used as a reference (in its price range) for SS headphone by the German Audio Magazine: Stereoplay

Reason for selling: Switched to tubes and no longer use any SS equipment

Back of the amp says 230 Volts, but I have 120 Volt transformers installed. I still have the 230 Volt transformers.

Looking for $ 130 shipped in the USA obo.
I am located in Greenwood SC 29649
