Same here. I got the first ones released (back in Sep) and posted my thoughts on Audiogon almost immediately. They replaced Porter Ports (cryo'd hubbells) and are tremendous value at $75. I saw Eliott and Ted last weekend at CES and saw they now send them in those nifty boxes (I kidded them that I want four boxes now). Mine were just after the early production run and before any packaging. They help produce a blacker background, and a clear dynamic sound.
I'm tempted to throw my hat in on this one as well. I have listened to Lee here on AC and his recommendations gave been good. I have A/B the constructor grade and the Cryoed Hubbell. No contest. After that I went outside the box to PS Audio and really did not seem to care to much. I then tried the Black Oyaide in my Balanced Power PPC, and did not like them as much as the cryoed hubbells in my TweekGek Hot box.The best to date was the Furutech 15A in wall from Lee. Very nice sound, a great bargain and clearly Audiophile grade outlet.I would like to hear the Tesla as I have had a basic Leviton in wall and did not think it did anything one way or the other...IMHO, there is a difference in quality outlets and would be interested in hearing the Tesla version.
$75 is a bit much for a Leviton outlet zapped with high voltage ("Quantum Tunnelling" nice name aa) IMO, but then we're talking about "audiophile" outlet pricing...It won't be long before people start zapping their favorite Oyaides and Furutechs and declare that Heavens opened up

I found the PS PowerPort gave me much more clarity than a standard $.49 duplex that it replaced. But with the added clarity came harshness at high volumes. The 20A gold Furutech relieved this high frequency harshness while retaining the clarity for me so I know for a fact how a simple duplex in a dedicated circuit can significantly change things, even with a balanced power conditioner in the mix. The thing with this Tesla Plex duplex is there's no info on the actual outlet construction other than the extreme voltage that was run thru this thing. I think the extreme construction that company's like Furutech and Oyaide are doing in their constructions of their duplexes go along way as to their impact on a system. I'm not seeing this with the Synergistic Research duplex but that doesn't meaan it's not good sounding. Only an actual comparison will show that. Cheers,Robin
