FS: Bolder SB3 Digital Gold and Basic Rev.1 PS with Ultimate MODS

For sale are the following Bolder Cable items:

Bolder Modified Black Squeezbox 3 Digital Only Mod Gold - SOLD

Summit DC Cable 1m - SOLD

Basic Rev.1 Power Supply with Ultimate MODS- This is NOT the Ultimate MKII, however it is the Basic Rev. 1 power supply previously made by Bolder that used the large Jensen caps.  I had it modded by Bolder to "almost" Ultimate Power Supply status which it uses the same transformer, regulator and circuit as the Ultimate.  Here is an email Wayne from Bolder sent me outlining the details of the mod.  It cost an additional $200 on top of the original cost of the power supply.  - asking $400

"Hello, It can't be made into an Ultimate MKII. The case size will not allow the same Jensen caps used in the Ultimate. I CAN replace the power transformer with the one used in the MKII. I can also update the regulator and circuit."

Do you have a picture of the SB3?
Do you remeber how much of a difference there was in sound after the mod?

hi, sure here are some pics.  the bolder mod transformed the unit completely into a high-end transport.  prior to having the mod done, the SB3 sounded okay as both a transport and player.  after the mods, i was floored at the sound quality.  if you check out the bolder forum, you can read of hundreds of more than satisifed customers who had this mod done.  note however, that this mod (gold bybee) is the best one available and most people don't have this one.  the gold makes everything sound very full and natural.  in addition to the mods, the power supply makes a huge difference as well.
