DSPeaker Subwoofer EQ advice request
« on: 12 Jan 2009, 06:00 pm »
Has anybody had any experience with the DSPeaker Anti-mode 8033 for subwoofer use?

http://www.dspeaker.com/en/products/anti-mode-8033.shtml

The only problem I can see for my setup is that there is a single line-in from a preamp, so I would need a way get from stereo to mono, and a simple y adaptor supposedly makes massive distortion.  It looks like this is intended for people who have HT receivers with a single subwoofer channel.

The only other issue is that so far I’m getting great sound just by tuning the sub by ear, so, is it worth the money?

There is now a stereo to mono cable since I last posted, so I guess I'm not the only one thinking about the stereo to mono problem.  50 Euros seems pricey for this cable, though.

Perhaps there is there a cheaper way?

Nice, thank you very much. That seems easy enough, I suppose 1/4 watt resistors make sense?  I also noticed that the Velodyme SMS-1 is on sale for $399.  I think this purchase is going to have to wait, however, until I buy a new computer.  (Not to mention my car's engine went into safe mode today working on 5/6 cylinders for some expensive reason :cuss: )
