I have a ceiling mounted projector with a ceiling outlet and looking for ways to remove some of the grunge from the picture. I have all other equipment running through a power conditioner.  I'm assuming the answer would be a power conditioner for the projector but any specific product advice or other ideas is appreciated!

What kind of grunge do you have?
What PJ are you using?
What kind of cables are you using?

General guidelines for grungeless picture:
- Shielded video cables. (Are the cables running parallel with AC wires?)
- Short (as possible) cable runs. Granted "short" is a relative term when the PJ is ceiling mounted.
- Is the PJ on the same electrical circuit as something that's introducing trash in the lines? (Motors, florescent lighting, amps?)

Is your grunge stationary, or is it moving around the screen? Some PJs have issues with "dust blobs" on the panels.
That's a good Google search term with your PJ's model number included.

Some form of filter/conditioner/protector would be a good idea for any electronics. I'm using a Belden UPS I got from Home Depot for $60. The main reason I got it, is due to a PJ's 'cool down time'. If I happen to blow a breaker or the power goes out, I don't want my PJ to heat soak and shorten the lamp's life. This way, I have time to turn it off properly. Battery backups are nice for things that need to shut down as opposed to having it's cord yanked.

What kind of grunge do you have? stationary hard etched appearance...sorry I don't know the exact terminology to describe.
What PJ are you using? Panasonic PT-AX100U
What kind of cables are you using? stock power cord. The connector to the projector is not standard so I haven't replaced the power cord.

General guidelines for grungeless picture:
- Shielded video cables. (Are the cables running parallel with AC wires?) the cables are perpendicular to AC lines
- Short (as possible) cable runs. Granted "short" is a relative term when the PJ is ceiling mounted.
- Is the PJ on the same electrical circuit as something that's introducing trash in the lines? (Motors, florescent lighting, amps?)- the projector is on a dedicated circuit

- "stationary hard etched appearance" Um...... That one I need a little more explanation on. Is it something you can take a picture of and post here?
I assume since the 'flaw' is stationary, it wouldn't be electrical interference from an outside source as those would be wavy/swirly/ghosty kinda things. It sounds like something created from either the source or the PJ itself.
When I referred to cables, I meant what type of video feed cables, not necessarily the power cord.
Are you using RG-59, RG-6 (component RGB), HDMI, or.....?
Is it possible to drag another TV into the room and hook it to the video source? This would eliminate some of the components.
What sources are you using:
TV, DVD, BlueRay, Game console.....etc....and how many sources do you have, and does it happen on all sources, or just some of them?
