I'm sure I'm just missing it... but what is the freq. response for both the OB-5 and the OB-7?  Only thing I noticed was a 3db downpoint of 45 hz on the OB-5's.

Also, I assume the OB-7's would be better suited if the speakers will be pretty close to the back wall?

They both need to be at least 3 feet out off the rear wall.

And if the 3' off the back wall isn't doable... do you recommend sticking w/ the Neo-2X (perhaps with ported floor standing design?), or the AV-3's?

I wouldn't be put off by the LF limitations.  Those speakers have extraordinary strengths that most highly acclaimed speakers can't touch.  If your situation is that you would have to position them for serious listening and then put them back out of the way when not in use, so be it.  Going to a live show is way more hassle.
