Modwright 9.0SE preamp.9/10 on audiogon scale. $1675.00 or B/O. Pics on Audiogon. Excellent condition. Just got back from Modwright for a checkup. It has the upgraded teflon/oil caps. It also has the latest power supply which IS different than the earlier stock units. I originally sent my unit back and Dan did some upgrades to the SS power supply. It made a world of difference. Warmer, fuller, better soundstage, etc. I had a Joule preamp I was comparing it to. I liked the Modwright so much after it came back I sold the Joule La100MKIII and sent the Modwright back in to get the cap upgrade. The tech suggested this over the tubed power supply. The unit sounds even more nuanced and natural after this $500 upgrade. I also have over 6 pairs of NOS tubes - the good ones Tungsols, Sylvanias, GEs, etc. I have to count them. I have compared this preamp to a Belles 28A, the Joule, a CJ PV-11, a Rogue, and others. To my ears this preamp trumped all those other preamps. Great deal especially with the tubes. Someone will have a very happy new year with this preamp!!
