Just a small update, I've been using Windows 7 for a week now. I decided to install it on all my PCs in the house! I'm still discovering some of the cool features of this new OS! The user friendly controls are terrific!! I installed Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit on my main HTPC. So far so good...I ordered 4 more GB's of RAM to bring the system up to 6 GB's. The Media player has been streamed line and offers more options and usability. I downloaded the K lite codec pack to make it even more versatile.
Sharing files with the other PCs in the house is much simpler. You just enter a shared password to make them apart of the same Home group and that's it. The OS does the rest for you. Setting up wireless connections is a snap..no 3 rd party controller needed..only the drivers.
The OS will automatically check your video setting, optimize and retrieve the proper drivers.
The new ISO image burning software works very well. It took me a few tries to get it to recognize my DVD burner ..after the 2nd or 3 rd time the OS figures it out and remembers all by itself.
It seems as though Windows is trying to cut down on as many 3rd party apps as possible. I find I do not need to download as much software because the system has its own version that works better. For example I used Firefox exclusively. I now find the newest Internet Explore to be more user friendly and customizable. BYE BYE Windows XP and Vista

I'm officially a Windows 7 man now!!!!!

Well almost..

I'll be totally official when they release the Retail version...my Beta copies should last till then.
