I thought I'd show you you guys my latest tweak for the Rega: The Stalking Leopard.

That's so funny because it mirrors exactly my experiences with my cat, Lucky, right down to him lying next to the laptop (or, if he can get away with it, on the keyboard).

I'm always having to brush cat hair off the screen and keyboard.

Cats and keyboards, cats and keyboards...whaddaya gonna do???

i KNOW dust covers are essential for record/tonearm/cartridge protection. one is right now on my briefcase (purse) and doesnt care if things are knocked about. INSIDE the open briefcase is preferable to her but i try to keep it shut.

Hey!

This "Orange Tabby" model doesn't work too well on my TT....

Sometime he cause too much resonance and could throw the weight off balance.

But seems to work best when he is next to me on my listening chair while I'm listen to the music. Sometime will emit a low frequency sound called "purr" of which I find it quite soothing.

BTW.. Mr. Bubble is also an AC fan.

He is OK but sometime he would walk around my TT and somehow touch the arm's weight in the
back. But he never get on top while the TT is playing of which is a good thing.

My cat won't chase resonances he's to busy chasing vermin, birds, or me.

Here he is after chasing me in the yard yesterday, the temp by the way 5 degrees F. I've never had a pet that loves cold weather more than this animal, it can 0 be degrees F out and he still wants out. Except to sleep in the afternoon and eat, hes outdoors almost all the time by his choice. (no PETA complaints please)

Is he a Maine Coon?

If so, I'm not surprised he wants to be out all the time....I've had cats like that, too. They want to be out hunting....they are the perfect predator, after all.

My feline resonance chasers are in my avatar, the calico and the grey one are passive, probably more along the lines of the Clever Little Clock, having a great impact merely through their presence in the room. The orange tabby is a much more active device seeking to stop resonance by stopping the device creating the problem. If the tone arm is swatted off the platter, you can't hear the resonances.

Since, I've had cats for most of the 35 years I've collected LP's they also tend to have different theories on LP maintenance:

Hey!

Ouch! Look like they are trying to them out to play them.

Good thing that my cat is not into vinyl but rather with my sofa and listen chair. That's OK since I don't have very expensive sofa and listening chair.

He's too small, only 9 pounds, to be a pure breed but maybe he has some Maine Coon blood in him, I don't know because he was a stray that just showed up one day. The fact that he let me pick him up and pet him that day still amazes me, because he has absolute aversion to any strangers and will hide and then hiss at any people he's see walking down street.

leopards are not the only effective resonance killers. other cats, cars, lobsters, walruses, alligators, seals, gargoyles, turtles, pigs, lizards, flamingos, parrots, squirrels, trolls, deities, dragons, mr bill, aliens, scarecrows, bears, hippos, mice, dinosaurs, frogs, apes, foxes, gumby, even tibetan resonance ringing bowls can be used. and, do not limit it to turntables - power supplies, amps, speakers, etc. are all fair game. hell, you can even treat your computer, walls, kitchen, emergency oil burner shut-off switch...

No kidding! I would hate to use my Dustbuster and just smear that around the grooves.
Or maybe that could be the miracle ingredient to smooth out those old, overplayed, scratchy LP's.
