Hi guys,

Just got my Coronet2 kit.
After visiting here for a while now, I have decided to join in.  8)
This circle also helped me finally decide on the Coronet and rule out several other kits. :thumb:

Cheers and happy holidays to all

I hope you find your Cornet II as much fun and as rewarding to listen to as I have found with mine!
Welcome aboard!!

 Thanks for the welcome!
I have the board about 3/4 finished, waiting for caps. Looking froward to some good vinyl spinning.

Hi Ed!

I know you are going to love this diy rabbit hole!  We are all in this together, so make sure to let us know how things are turning out.

Which caps did you select for your build?

Hi Tubes
I have been impressed with your work here :thumb:
Caps?.............drumroll please

I have some Sonicaps and some some ft-3 on the way. Trying to keep costs in line with my beer budget. Most of the c100 stuff I just went off the stock parts list.
It is all a little new to me but I am a pretty good student

Thanks
Ed

Ed,

This sounds like a great start.  I have a friend with a Cornet 2 using the Sonicaps and it really kicks!

I could easily enjoy his C2.  We played mine side to side and I have to say the only slight difference I could pick out was in the width of the soundstage that comes from the Mundorf Silver In Oil and those hideously expensive "nude" Vishay S102 resistors which give you micro detail that really makes things sound real.

The nice thing about your Hagerman is that the board is built rugged.

As your budget improves, you can take out any part you want to roll, use some #2 no clean copper wick to remove the old solder, and solder in your new piece.  I have exchanged some pieces nearly a dozen times without ever lifting a trace.

Now that is what I call "TOUGH".
