What with all the remakes of everything, I had a "wish list" of films I thought could be "remade" and better the originals.

1) The Day The Earth Stood Still

2) War of the Worlds

3) Forbidden Planet

While I haven't seen TDTESS, I have seen WOW and liked it.

Looks like I'll get my wish on the third

If "the Day the Earth Stood Still" remake was better than the original, then the original must have SUCKED!

The WoW remake scared the bejeezus out of me. I can still hear the noises those f'ing space pods were honking out everywhere...probably the only time I've regretted having a powerful subwoofer

I don't think "Forbidden Planet" can be improved upon.  That was the orginal 'ahead of its time' Sci-Fi movie.
