When I'm in the mood for a good laugh, I like to read the Dakiom ads on audiogon. They always cheer me up. I have no idea whether the products work or not, or even whether there is any sensible physics behind what they are doing. But their marketing approach is just fantastic. It's as though the guy drinks about a quart and a half of scotch and then plunges himself into a stream-of-consciousness tirade about people making ridiculous-sounding claims while marketing gadgets to audiophiles, and completely fails to realize that he is doing exactly the same thing himself.
Personally, I'm not going to check out the thread on AA as it's bound to upset me. Regardless of who is right or wrong, who is honest or dishonest, nobody ever comes out of these things looking good. I hope there's been some misunderstanding that will soon be cleared up. In particular, I hope that the dakiom guy can emerge without a completely tarnished reputation, since it would be a shame if his prose were ever to disappear from audiogon.
