1" thick MDF. Hey.....speaker enclosures are made with this stuff, why not audio racks?
Rack is sturdy and stable. Construction is solid and clean, no screws or hardware anywhere. Dado joints + glue are used to attach shelves to sideboards. Edges are routered. Recently painted with flat black paint.
Outside dimensions: 48h x 22w x 16d
Inside shelf dimension: 20w x 16d
Usable shelf height is 8 inches, except for bottom shelf which is 10 inches.
Not the prettiest girl at the dance, but functional, clean and flexible.
Has served me well over the years, and my system always sounded great.
