SOLD: Quicksilver Silver Monos $1050 Shipped Conus
« on: 11 Dec 2008, 07:03 pm »
For Sale:
A pair of Quicksilver Silver Mono Amps.  90 Watts per side, excellent clean sounding power.  Chrome chassis in perfect condition, no scratches no dents.  I have the original shipping boxes, and will ship anywhere in North America on my dime!  (These are very heavy and expensive to ship, discount given to local pick up.)

In all honesty I don’t think you can do any better for a grand then these rock solid amps.  Let me know if you have similarly priced amp to trade, I might consider.

Requirments for trade:
Must be a power amp. (As a reviewer I must be able to review pre-amps.)
Must be a Tube Amp (Some hybrids might work, but most of those are not of comprable value.  Meaning they are too expensive to trade for this.)
Must be at least 40 Watts (SE/UL switchable would be nice.)
Must be attratcive!  (My wife is the judge on that one...)

Check out the link below for pictures!

Accepted Payment options:
Cash (If local to Southern California)
Check (If it is drawn on a bank I can visit in Southern California)
USPS Money Order
Pay Pal (Buyer pays fees)

These are heavy; shipping will be 2 large boxes 45 pounds each.  Shipped UPS Ground or Local Pickup.

Thanks for looking

I've owned three pairs of these and will testify that these are GREAT amps.   :D

If I needed the power I would still own a pair.

90 fat watts from a pair of KT88.  Super simple, great sounding circuit.  Fully supported by Mike Sanders of Quicksilver - one of the bestest guys in audio.

Don't let the low price fool you - these are killer amps.

(Nope, I don't know Jeff)

I don’t have any pictures right now, I can get some maybe tonight.

They look most like the Mid-Mono that is currently sold.  Below is a link to the Mid-Mono page.

Jonathan,
Thanks for the plug; yes I do have original boxes. These are boxed separately, in double boxes. Quicksilver is among the best-packaged equipment I have seen.  Form fitted insulation in the outer-box box and a perfectly sized and insolated inner-box.  From the first solder joint to the last box the amp is put in to, every detail is very important to Mike Sanders.  That is why his amps are so great for so long.

Those transformers have some MEAT on them, would love to get these, but my current setup is perfect as is.

Good luck with the sale, I am sure someone will pick up a nice set here.

there appears to be a difference between the Mid-monos & the 70watt Monos.
Do your's appear to be like the Pictured 70 Watt Mono blocs..or like the Mid-mono?

There is a cosmetic difference between the Silver 90s and the Silver 70s.  Pictures of the actual amps that are for sale are now available through a link in the top message.  There is a sonic difference between the two as well.  The 90’s are more dynamic, accurate and extremely fast, while the 70s have a slightly more bloated mid-range.  The missing 20 watts is very obvious in side-by-side comparisons.  If it were not for space restrictions in the reorganization of my listening room these Silver 90s wouldn’t be going anywhere.

These amps have 8, 4, and 1-ohm taps and are specifically designed to drive the most difficult loads.  They sing on low efficiency speakers.  I have yet to see the load that these amps can't drive with ease.

I have had a great deal of interest, on these.  Just as an FYI, I don’t see any other amps with 1 ohm taps on here for a grand.  I have actually seen these amps drive 4 8-ohm drivers in parallel.  That is all the way down to 1 ohm, and not an easy feat my friends!

Original boxes.  These are the best boxes I have ever seen for shipping.  Check out the pics, Mike Sanders knows what he is doing!  I dont think even USPS could mess these amps up in shipping!
