Hello Ava family,
I am the original owner of a 5 year old Transcendence Seven ECR preamp with phono and tape buffers. It was my intention then to start a core AVA system of the preamp, Fet Valve 350 amp, and DAC to go along with my B&W 805s, Marantz CD changer, vintage Pioneer PL 530 turntable, and Polk Audio subwoofer. (I used the power of my Bob Carver CM 2002 integrated amp to drive the speakers). The improvement in sound was good, but due to my other components and room acoustics, just made me long for getting my other AVA components...
Well, four years ago I did the unbelievably romantic thing of falling in love and marrying my wife - who lives on the other side of the USA from me (she in Los Angeles, Ca. - me in Baltimore, Md.). (I was a helpdesk tech for a computer based testing company, she was one of my customers) We have since then been jetting back and forth across country trying to decide where to settle down. Now, I will be driving (with the 2 cats) to LA so that me and the wife can save up for a down payment for a house (in Texas). (...and saving for my AVA system again...

)
I called Frank a couple days ago because when I last turned on my system (over a year ago, the T7 has been in storage for the past year), the power switch did not light up and I had no sound from the system. I did not do much troubleshooting (I was mostly using my computer's 5.1 system for music by then) and was getting ready to move into a smaller apartment, so I just packed up the T7 and put it in storage. Thinking I just needed a fuse, I got the fuse size from Frank and went across town to buy the fuses, then went to storage to get the T7. Got home, plugged the T7 in - the power switch lights up! I did take the cover off just see the fuses and the great work of AVA - looks just like the the picture on the AVA website (well, the picture of 5 yrs ago).
So, to the present - I'm going to put the T7 back in storage for another year or so until my wife and I move to Texas - unless I can sell it now for a good price (and use the money to help make my cross country drive at the end of this month/beginning of Jan.). Frank has given me a price range of what I should expect to get for the unit given the couple of updates that has happened in the past five years. Due to the very little use and the fact that it's in excellent condition (a 9/10 rating in AudiogoN) I'm looking a get a little more than "the going rate".
My main question to you is: what is the best way to sell this unit
locally so as to protect the buyer in giving the buyer the ability to install the T7 into his/her system and be satisfied before paying for the unit? (Man, my wife always tell me I'm long winded....

) I'll upload some pictures later today - I'm on my way to storage for the manual. Thanks for any info in advance...
