*SOLD* Sophia Baby amp, with lotsa toobs

Check 'em out. The reviews, that is, at http://sophiaelectric.com/pages/amp/ampbaby.htm. Folks love this little integrated, with 10 watts of tubular talent.

But if you are an audiophile, stay away from this amp. It is about as no fuss, no muss, jes' the music, ma'am, as you can get. It plays tunes. Period. And this one comes with bow-coo of tubes, tubes out the wazoo: almost three sets of power tubes (one set has only three tubes), two pairs of stock 5670s, and pairs of 5670s in the following flavors: all NOS RCA, Sylvania (not shown in pic), GE, and GE 5 Star. All the tubes in the last photo  are the extras. You can roll 'em till the cows start to boogie. (And I have more NOS pairs for sale of the RCAs and both GEs for anyone lookin' to add to their collection for this amp, an MHDT DAC, Shanling CD player, or anything else that uses the 5670/2C51/396A.)

One minor glitch: you have to wiggle one of the power tubes to get a good contact. Must be a loose pin gripper in the socket or something, but once the tube is happy, that's it; you don't have to do anything else until and unless you change tubes. Price, given all the extra bottles you're getting, reflects that small hiccup and is fair and firm. Otherwise, the amp is in fine shape. It's dead quiet and doesn't even get very warm.

$350. Paypal add 3%. No trades, please.

You got it.

I'll just add that for those who find SET world a little too exotic, this is tube power for those who have been tempted to walk away from their sand amps but a little reluctant to venture into Tube World. This is sane and sweet tubular pleasure. And not just a starter amp but a keeper (except for those like me who have one or two too many toob amps, to "two, too, toob" a little).

Bump. I just came across a stash of NOS Sylvania 5670s, so am adding two of those to the already tottering pile of glass you'll get with this little guy.

Thanks. I'm biased, but I gotta agree. There's a lot of smoke and mirrors in audio, but this is not only a no-BS piece of equipment; IMO, it's ridiculously inexpensive for the sound and build quality you get. I'll keep flinging this out there until someone decides to get happy.

Bumpity-bump...Not for audiophiles because it is futz-with-free or sound quality?
