Hi Brian, Danny

how to modify (replace with high end cap) the input cap of the the Rythmik servo amp?

I remembered Brian posted it somewhere but i lost it.
where in the picture can you see the (largest cap?) input cap?

i saw some caps

I wonder if Brian thinks that will do anything sonically..

hi
this is not so difficult to find.
coupling ( input and output caps in pre-amps/Cdp and so on) caps have a huge effect on transparency and musical qualities.

I need to use the woofer up to 200 hz, which is rather high. I assume for 100 hz and up it may be beneficial to use a teflon or paper in oil as input cap. Brian at least mentioned it would do no harm

Hi kyrill,

Why so high, if I might ask?

A mod I'm considering at the moment is to bypass the inbuilt attenuator with a quality fixed resistor [or two  :)].

OK.  I use my two Rythmiks at 88Hz and below.  So this mod might not do me any good.  Right?  Brian?

I am using the Servo setup in an OB system ( open baffle) and the midrange driver i use in combination with my baffle dimensions ( 16.5" X 59")  looses too much freqs under 200 hz

I have plenty of bass in my room from the woofers even over 300 hz, but the little 6 inch mid range starts to fall off under 210 hz. My active crossovers needs besides the servo amps two separate amps for mid and high and both are triode PP tube amps around 18-22 watts

So i cannot boost the lows too much for the midrange even when it is 94dB sensitivity

Ah well the adventure is not over. The sound is close too horrible so have a lot of tweaking to do

"OK.  I use my two Rythmiks at 88Hz and below.  So this mod might not do me any good.  Right?" I think it is not worth the trouble

I have no doubt it will do something, but if you can perceive these changes in the frequencies that the sub operates is another story.  People using them up to 200hz are far more likely to hear it than i am since i only use mine below 50hz.
