Listening to this elicits the same feelings as I had when we saw them here in March.  I LOVE the new stuff live, but don't particularly like the softer MOR-produced (IMO) Sky Blue Sky.  I've never felt that about any Wilco album until this one.  I mean, live is always good, and different, but this time I can't listen to the studio version.  It hasn't clicked, and I've given it 18 months.  Weird.

Unfortunately... the new album sucks. And your suck-o-meter has gone off as it should. This protects you from listening to crap.. aka their last album. Im sure they will rock it back into non suck-o-meter land.

Yeah, everything they do off of Sky Blue is very well done live.  It is some of their best..it's too bad the studio album puts me in a diabetic coma.

I disagree, however, about Jeff's banter.  He had us rolling (I wish    ) in the aisles.  He was great with the crowd, knew some Cleveland suburban trivia, local rock history and was quite funny about the venue (a decent but very non-alcoholic local HS auditorium/center).  Even the quips about "here comes the mandatory fill-in-current-city-name-into-lyrics" or "mandatory audience shout back the chorus" stuff.

X2, I really like it.  Imho, Nel Cline's wild, but masterful, tangents on the geetar really are the saving grace.

I'm wit 'cha man.  No flames please but I think ironically they are getting wayyy better live as they retreat in the studio.  I wasn't blown away with A Ghost either, but it is very good (guitar feedback notwithstanding).  The albums before it are masterpieces IMO. 

Tweetch his own.  I'd rather be debating Wilco albums than a lot of other stuff...we are lucky folks to hear this music.

I like SBS.  I think it is an excellent album.  It has a huge soundstage but the HF are a bit rolled off for my taste on both my CD and 180g vinyl.
