Great Listening Session This Morning - Man I feel Good!

Well this morning I put some test records I purchased from Acoustic Sounds a couple years ago.  Bill Evans - Waltz With Debbie, Art Pepper - Smack Up, Count Basie - Farmers Market BBQ, and a few more.  These are 180g Analogue Production records from the 1990's.

Once the tubes in my little Decware amp warmed you could not pull me away from the music.  My little Hornshoppe horns were just smoking in my listening room, not literally of course.

I can't believe how real the sound was on these small group recordings.  Kudos to Ed "Hornshoppe" Schilling and Chad Kassem from Analogue Productions for the wonderful show.   Also to Tom Fletcher of Nottingham Analogue (my TT maker) and Steve Deckert (my amplifier).  Man was my system making some beautiful music this morning.  :thumb:

Hello NB,
I too had a similar morning. Feeling a bit under the weather , I had to take some time out of my day to relax so I sat down on the couch at the store and just listened to some tunes. I would have simply taken the day off but I have to hang around for deliveries.

I hooked up my phono stage and table and spent some time chillin' to some Louis Armstrong (200g vinyl), Miles Davis, Count Basie, Ray Charles and John Lee Hooker.

Boy it feels go to be able to just sit down and enjoy some music once in a while. :D

I hope someday to have an opportunity to listen to a set of Ed Schilling's "Horns". After listening to the Omegas this week, I have a hunger to hear more single driver loudspeakers.

Cheers,

This is what its all about. If we all felt about our listening sessions with the same anticipation as going to a live concert or any other event that gives you that man i feel good about this you would get more from that session. I have found that looking forward to a upcoming listening session i enjoy the music and experience in a better way. Give it a try with your system. Make a time in advance and see or hear it though for more enjoyment and that man i love music and this hobby feeling.
BTW i like listening sessions on rainy days.

nb,
Yeah man that's what it's all about  aa. I had the same experience on turkey day. The Master Chef was busy in her domain so off to the music room I went. My system has gone through many changes in the last few months and finally all the modifying ( silver wire, black gate caps, etc.) is beginning to gel. It just feels great to get lost in the tunes for a while  8).
