orientation of gear in room

I'm thinking about rotating everything in my room 45º to the left, so that the equipment rack would be in the corner where the funky lamp is now. I'm thinking this might sound good because the speakers would be more in a free air space and the side wall would not be parallel to them. Any agreement on this idea?

 Plus, I think it would look sort of funky and cool to have the room oriented in an odd way.

That's a small photo, and I'm having a hard time making out any details, despite squinting. What does the rest of the room look like?

You're probably better off leaving the corners free. See this:
