I have read a lot about these speakers, and while there are noteable competitors, one just has to make a decision.  I can't afford to buy new ones or even their most recent models pre-owned, so I am looking for original or updated VR models like the 3 and 4 series.  If anyone wants to give me a shout on that, please email me.

Hi Ray,
I'm also curious where you live - I have a pr of VR4JRs, MkI, that I've been thinking of swapping for something different. Purchased as demos from Channel Island Audio.

I have the crates but it'll be $$ to ship. If you are near NJ/PA, you are welcome to come by and listen. Even if you are not very interested in buying them (I'd do them for below $2K) I'd be happy to let you hear them so you can add a data point to your noggin'.

I wanted to say a big Thank You to all of you on this posting for your help and words finding speakers.  I did up my ante and went searching for the VR4 SR Mk I.  You folks are extremely helpful and I hope to return the favor.

Note to self and VS lovers... VR 4 SRs with crates BARELY fit into an X5.
