Yep, looks pretty cool. My wife and I saw the trailer. She looked at me and said "What was that all about?". I told her it was the remake of the 1950's classic and I promptly rattled off that Michael Rennie played Klaatu and the robots name was Gort. My wife looked at me, shook her head and called me a geek.

The trailer....  :thumb:

Jennifer Connelly, yum.

Speaking of this lass (beautiful, huh?), here's a little personal filmography of her early years.  First noticed her in Once Upon a Time in America.  Mesmerizing beauty at a very young age.  Later, in a comedy wherein she gets locked up in a grocery store overnite with the clean up guy.  Stunningly yummy in that.  Later still and 20lbs lighter, Don Johnson fell hard for her in The Hot Spot (no wonder) and around the same time a cute movie called Rocketman in which you couldn't take your eyes off of her.  Regained the weight and was featured in Mulholland Falls.  Lost the weight and appeared in Requiem for a Dream which was a dismal, ugly movie (think she was looking for some acting cred by this time) and House of Sand and Fog, good picture and a hit with the critics.  The rest, as they say, is history.

Thanks for her filmography.  I've seen most of the movies you mentioned, and she is fetching in every one of them.  The movie where she is locked up in the grocery store is called Career Opporttunities.  She is even more beautiful in person than in film.  I saw her in front of Patische, a trendy and popular restaurant in Manhattan's meat packing district about 7 or 8 years ago.  She was holding a baby stroller, and she was with two guys.  One of them was the photographer David Dougan, with whom she was involved with at the time.  Seeing her there just took my breath away.  She wasn't wearing any makeup and her natural beauty was radiant.  Everyone who walked by was awestruck by her beauty.  Their eyes bulged and their mouths dropped, as did mine.  A photographer friend of mine, who has photographed her, told me it's really hard to get her to look better on camera than off.  Having been in fashion photography for awhile, I know what he means.  Having seen a lot of beautiful people in fashion, I don't get too excited unless it's someone exceptional.  The flat image of a photograph or in film, with the right lighting and angle, will usually make almost anyone look better than in person.  There are exceptions, and Jennifer Connelly is one of them.  It is very difficult to capture her three dimensional beauty in a two dimensional plane.  When I see her in movies or in photographs, even though she looks beautiful, but it doesn't do justice to her real live beauty.

I went in expecting more, came out somewhat underwhelmed. Felt like they rushed the second half to a "happy" Hollywood ending, and edited out parts of the first half.
It was not truly IMAX.
3.5 out of 5 stars.

Junk film. The lass can't act, Keanu never could act, boring. Total and utter rubbish.

I have seen point break and don't remeber any great acting from him. My opinion of Keanu is he is cast in roles that require chair leg like properties, in that one about the devil he plays an inhuman lawyer, in my private idaho he plays an inhumuan rich kid, in the Matrix he is an inhuman/half deity which makes relating to people difficult, and in this film he plays an inhuman alien who's job it is to eradicate the human race. I noticed this trait in his career a while ago. Any films where he has played a highly emotive sensitive character who has great powers of artistic expresion?

Good thing you didn't quote the line "Gort, Klaatu barada nikto" (Which you probably remembered, too!).  That would have sealed the deal.

Oh, that's stinging.  Yeah, he's plastic alright, and the movie stunk.
