FS: Line Arrays
« on: 16 Nov 2008, 06:21 pm »
Hi all!

I am putting my line array speakers up for sale only because I want to buy/try something else.  The design was derived from a Selah Audio design.  They were built by Dave of 'Art of Sound' for his personal use.  They have Vifa XT 7 woofers and Fountek ribbon tweeters.  The crossover was designed by Selah Audio.  The crossover is at 1,700 Hz and the frequency response is 45 Hz – 26 KHz.  Sensitivity is 95 db.

I play them through my old Adcom gear and they sound wonderful.  Highs are clear and detailed, mids are clear and crisp, and bass is tight and clean.

The speakers are 64 inches tall and weigh in at around 175 pounds each.  The cabinets are sealed.  They were designed using a combination bulkhead/matrix bracing system so they are very rigid.  The fronts have birdseye maple veneer and the sides and backs have cherry veneer.  There is also a small black base on each speaker.  These speakers look great in my living room!  Even though they are tall they do not overpower the look of the room.

There are a couple things to tell you about these speakers.  There are a couple light areas in the wood on the sides.  I am not sure if that is the way the veneer was when it was put on the speakers or if something rubbed up against the speakers or if something else happened.  There are a few small screw holes on the backs of the cabinets where something was held in place.  These screw holes were in the cabinets when I bought the speakers.

My preference is for the buyer to pick up the speakers at my house because I really do not want to have to ship them.  Shipping costs will be horribly high.  That being said if the buyer wants the speakers shipped the buyer will pay the shipping and insurance costs.

I am in the Des Moines, Iowa area.  Feel free to contact me to make an appointment to give the speakers a listen.  Bring your music.

I am asking $3100.00 (plus shipping and insurance) for these amazing speakers.  Pick them up at my house and save yourself hundreds of dollars in shipping costs.

Preferred methods of payment are cashier’s check or cash.  PayPal is okay if you want to fork out another 2 percent of the purchase price.

Please contact me for more information and more pictures.

Well, I don't know what happened.  I tried the image link to display pictures but that would not work so I tried the hyperlink and that appears to have worked.  Can someone please tell me why the image link would not work?

I have had a question about the age of these speakers.  They are about 4 years old.
