I have some Anniversary 8TC unused and was thinking about auditioning them with the OB-5s. What is the tweak?
This may sound really silly so bear with me.
Ok if you grab the cable with both hands and sort of push inwards the braid expands and becomes tube-like. Open it up about a half-inch to an inch. I started at one end and using a small screwdriver or pen push into the interior of the braid dozens of used dryer sheets. I did this for the anti-static properties as an experiment. I had been saving my used dryer sheets for some time so I had a bunch.

Anyway this was my poor-man's version of the Kimber Select.
The big surprise was that it seemed to lower the noise level a bit and give slightly better depth and width to the soundstage. It also took away some of the excess warmth which I felt was also an improvement.

I'm sure some of you guys are shaking your heads

but I've had years to get used to their qualities.
It's a funny experiment to be sure but the best part is I was using dryer sheets anyway so it really didn't cost me any extra.
